Lens Safety & Care Guide

Colored contact lenses are medical devices that sit directly on your eyes. Following proper hygiene and care keeps your eyes healthy and your lenses comfortable throughout their lifespan.

Before You Wear

Always wash your hands with soap and water and dry them with a lint-free towel before touching your lenses. Check each lens for tears, deposits, or damage before inserting — never wear a damaged lens.

Daily Care Routine

Clean after every use: Rub and rinse each lens with fresh multi-purpose contact lens solution — never water or saliva. Store properly: Keep lenses in a clean lens case filled with fresh solution. Empty and rinse the case daily, and replace the case every 1–3 months. Never reuse old solution or top it off — always use fresh solution each time.

Wearing Guidelines

Wear your lenses for a maximum of 8 hours per day, and remove them immediately if you feel discomfort, redness, or dryness. Never sleep in your lenses. Remove lenses before swimming, showering, or using a sauna — water exposure can lead to serious eye infections. Never share lenses with anyone, even briefly.

Replacement Schedule

Respect your lens replacement cycle: yearly lenses last up to 12 months and 6-month lenses last up to 6 months from the day you first open the vial — not from first wear. Mark the opening date on your calendar. Even if lenses look fine, discard them after their replacement period.

First-Time Wearers

If you are new to contact lenses, start with 2–4 hours of wear per day and gradually increase as your eyes adjust. Soak new lenses in fresh solution for at least 6 hours (ideally overnight) before first wear to neutralize the packaging saline.

When to Stop and Seek Help

Remove your lenses and consult an eye care professional immediately if you experience persistent redness, pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, or unusual discharge. Never ignore these symptoms — early treatment prevents serious complications.
